The Met Office have put a yellow weather warning in place for the Scottish Islands as strong winds are expected.
The winds will affect Caithness, Orkney and Fair Isle.
West or southwesterly winds will gust to 65 mph at times, and perhaps around 75 mph along exposed coasts.
The strong winds are expected to move eastwards during the early hours of this morning.
