Ahmedabad: The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Mr. Boris Johnson, has been on a visit to India since April 21. Mr. Boris Jones has started his India tour from Gujarat. The visiting Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Mr. Boris Jones visited the world famous historical Gandhi Ashram in Ahmedabad. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel also joined him during his entire visit to Gandhi Ashram.
Mr. Boris Johnson came to Gandhiji’s holy land in Hridayakunj and was influenced by Gandhian ideas. He offered flowers to the statue of Gandhiji. He visited various parts of Hridayakunj, spun on Gandhiji’s favorite charkha and also visited the Ahmedabad Gallery at Gandhi Ashram.
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Mr. Boris Jones also visited the Mira Kutir at the historic Gandhi Ashram. British Lady Madeleine Slade who was a British citizen. Impressed by Gandhiji’s ideas, he came to Gandhi Ashram and the cottage in which he lived was named Meera Kutir.
Expressing his sentiments in the visitor’s book, he wrote to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Mr. Boris Jones, “My visit to the Gandhi Ashram is indescribable. And my experience of coming to Gandhi Ashram was also very good. Gandhiji has provided the whole world with an example of how truth and non-violence changed the world.
On this occasion two books ગાંધી Guide to Londonઁ and Autobiography of Mirabenઁ from Gandhi Ashram were given to Mr. Johnson as a gift. Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Kumar, Chief Front Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri K. Kailasanathan, Ahmedabad District Collector Sandeep Sagle, Trustee of Sabarmati Ashram Shri Kartikeya Sarabhai, Trustee Shri Amrutbhai Modi, Director of Sabarmati Ashram Shri Atul Pandya, Chief Protol were present.
