Russia: Russia’s Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has accused the United States and other Western nations of providing arms to Ukraine. He said the country was doing so so that the fight would last longer. He said the United States and other allies were doing everything possible to prolong Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine. The Russian Defense Minister also spoke of intensifying the attacks after a Russian warship sank in the Black Sea. There were signs of a fierce attack. Russia has also claimed that more than 1,200 sites in Ukraine have been destroyed in a single day. Russia has also claimed that a Ukrainian MiG-5 was shot down in the Donetsk region. Russia’s Colonel-General Mikhail Mijintsev has warned Ukrainian troops that they will suffer the consequences if they do not surrender.
The mediation of many countries of the world between Russia and Ukraine has not yielded any tangible result. Russia has completely destroyed the city of Mariupol. Ukraine, however, has categorically denied this. Ukraine’s defense minister has said that the situation in Mariupol is “very difficult” but that “our army is responding with a vengeance.”
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said that the war in Ukraine has led to a sharp rise in inflation around the world. This state of inflation will remain unchanged for a long time compared to previous estimates. TPJ has cut its global growth forecast for January this year from 0.2 per cent to 7.5 per cent.
Russia has stepped up attacks in order to gain control of the eastern industrial areas of Ukraine. The Russian military has targeted cities and areas covering hundreds of kilometers of fronts. The war between the two countries, which started on February 8, is now entering a new phase.
