Abu Dhabi: Dubai Expo 2020 may end on March 31, but there is still a lot of activity in this area. Many of the pavilions built for the expo are being demolished and its raw materials will be used as part of the World Expo’s sustainable strategy. However about 80 per cent of them are not planned to be removed. All these smart cities will be part of District 2020.
District 2020, which starts in October this year, will have a residential and business complex. Its organizers call it the ’15 Minute City ‘, which will be bicycle friendly and a completely traffic free city, built according to the technology of the future. It will have a center to support startup, 10 km cycle track, jogging track, track for the required vehicle. Let us know the best creations of Expo 2020 which will be in 2020.
Al Vasal Plaza
El Vasal Plaza is also called the heart of Expo 2020 (El Vasal Plaza). It was from here that the stage and exhibition area of the Expo was hosted by participants from all over the world. Al Vasal means connection.
India Pavilion
The India Pavilion, located in Al Forson Park and next to the Opportunity District, is one of the largest pavilions in the Expo. It is a matter of pride for Indians living in the UAE that the India Pavilion will also be a part of District 2020. This shows how India is developing and moving forward. Here during the expo, a huge hall on the ground floor showcased the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the BAPS Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi and the Ghats of Varanasi. Which will still be settled here.
Dubai Exhibition Center
The Dubai Exhibition Center, located near the Dubai Metro 2020 station, was the expo’s business and networking hub. Spread over 45,000 sq.m., the exhibition space is equipped with world class facilities. It will now host conferences, concerts and exhibitions.
Gravity defining water feature
If the most visited expo is the Gravity Defying Water feature. It was so beautiful that it has now been decided to make it part of District 2020. This water feature is like an artificial waterfall. Where the vertical walls of water fall down from a height of 13 meters. Here the three elements of fire, water and earth come together. It also has an orchestra.
Observation tower
The entire expo can be seen through the bird’s eye view of the 55 meter high moving observation tower. This too will be part of District 2020. At night the whole tower glows. The tower was designed by London-based architect Asif Khan, who also designed three carbon fiber expo gates.
