In good news for travel fans hoping to soak up the sun in Santorini this summer, Greece’s travel restrictions are being scrapped.
Travel to Greece will start to resemble pre-pandemic times, with testing and proof of vaccination entry requirements both relaxing.
So, what are the new travel requirements for Brits hoping to soak up some much-needed rays to Athens or Mykonos?

What are the travel requirements for Greece from the UK?
The Greek government confirmed that, from May 1, travellers arriving from the UK, USA and European Union countries are exempt from the requirement to show a vaccine certificate, proof of a negative test, or a certificate of recovery from Covid-19 to enter Greece.
Travel will now resemble that of pre-pandemic times – a welcome return to normal for many holidaymakers.
On the FCO website, it states that precise rules are subject to change and you should follow any instructions given on arrival at immigration or airport testing facilities.
Getting to Greece is just one part of the puzzle, it’s important to remember to keep tabs on the latest coronavirus rules in place throughout the country.
The FCO states that it’s still mandatory to wear a mask in all indoor public spaces, in all areas of Greece. In certain areas, such as in supermarkets and pharmacies, and on public transport, you will be required to wear either double masks (at least one of which should be surgical), or an N95/FFP2 mask.
It’s possible you may be asked for proof of vaccination when trying to enter specific venues, such as indoor restaurants, nightclubs and museums.
What are the rules for unvaccinated travellers?
While unvaccinated UK travellers can now enter the country without the need to show any vaccine certificates, there are restrictions on what they can do while in Greece.
The rules can be subjective depending on where you go, so places like museums, cinemas, theatres, exhibitions and nightclubs could deny entry without proof of vaccination, or a negative test.
Unvaccinated travellers will also, like everyone else, need to adhere to the country’s mask rules.
