Two years after the Corona epidemic, the WHO report has caused a stir around the world. The WHO report says that most of the developing and developed countries of the world have hidden the death toll in the Koro epidemic! India is leading in this game! 47 lakh deaths in India during Second Wave! While the official figure is barely around 5 lakh. Currently, the Indian government has rejected the WHO report. The WHO’s method of calculating deaths in Corona is being questioned.
The Corona epidemic began about 29 months ago today. Some mysterious cases were reported in Wuhan, China. This mysterious disease was known as corona virus. Gradually the corona virus spread throughout the world. By March 2020 the world began to live in the shadow of fear and apprehension. Lockdown, restrictions, protocol, patient queues inside and outside the hospital, long queues at the cemetery, etc. Those moments of helplessness have passed, but it is difficult to say when they will come again or not. With the exception of China, most countries have left the epidemic behind. The world is busy making new beginnings. But two questions still arise today, who are never ready to leave our chase?
The first question – where did the corona virus originate? Was it made in Wuhan’s lab? Or was it spread from animal to human? Was the corona virus spread deliberately? The World Health Organization (WHO) also went to China to investigate, but no response has been received. The second question – related to the actual number of deaths due to corona. How many people died due to Corona epidemic? Which governments and which health systems have failed? Different calculations are going on in this regard. It focuses on certain countries. This time the World Health Organization (WHO) has released a worldwide assessment.
This report is published on May 5, 2022. It records data from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021. The worst of the Corona epidemic was observed during this period. The WHO report says the actual death toll from the corona is almost three times higher than the official figure. That is, the death toll in the world is three times higher than the death toll reported by most countries, not just India. According to government figures, about 6.3 million people worldwide have lost their lives to corona so far. The WHO estimates that the actual figure is about 1.5 million. This data of access deaths is shocking! Because many governments have tried to rob the applause by stating low figures.
Now let’s understand, how is access death calculated? Access death is the difference between two approximate numbers. The first number is the total number of deaths during the epidemic. The second number is the estimated number of deaths in the pre-epidemic period. Let’s understand it easily. An approximate example should be. Suppose there was an epidemic of corona from 2020 to 2021. One million people died during this period. Last year there were no epidemics in 2019 and 2020. While 2 lakh people lost their lives this year, the number of access deaths is estimated to be 8 lakh. Direct and indirect deaths due to covid have been added to the access death rate. Indirect means death, which is caused by other problems caused by Kovid.
Of course, the pressure on the health system in Corona had increased a lot. Due to which people suffering from other serious diseases could not get timely treatment and lost their lives. Road accidents were also reduced during the Corona, as lockdown was imposed. People were forbidden to go out. In addition, many industries were shutting down. Due to which accidents during work were reduced. Access to these facts also had an effect on mortality.
Which countries does this report raise questions against? And where has access mortality been most observed? Let’s try to find out. According to the WHO, 84 percent of access mortality cases occur in Southeast Asia, Europe and the Americas. Eighty-one percent of the cases were in middle- and low-income countries. For example, according to the Government of India, between 2020 and 2021, about 474,000 people in the country died due to corona. The WHO estimates that 47 million deaths have occurred during this period! That is, ten times more! The statistics are staggering.
According to the WHO, the Indian government has hidden the record of more than 90% deaths! The Indian government, on the other hand, has denied the figures. He also questioned the WHO’s assessment method. The Indian Ministry of Health has also issued a statement. The WHO has not yet responded to India’s complaints. India is already questioning the WHO’s approach, with the WHO acknowledging that data from 17 states was taken from websites or media reports and included in the final calculations.
India has also appealed to the WHO to include accurate data released by member countries in its calculations instead of unofficial sources. Of course, who is right and who is wrong in this controversy? This can be a long discussion. Questions can be raised on the calculation model, but will these discussions or questions improve our health system? Probably not. Because reform requires generosity. India needs to look at this once and for all. Many states in India are still clearing their backlog. They are releasing updated data on deaths from corona. Many states have already stopped updating their data. The Government of India now needs to understand the seriousness of the WHO report instead of questioning it. Is the Modi government ready for the next challenges like Second Wave? Only by understanding this report can we secure our future today. Only then will we be able to prepare more accurately for another disaster.
According to a WHO report, India has reached the peak of deaths due to covid. It is currently ranked third. America and Brazil are in the first two places. The death toll in countries other than India is also not good. In Mexico the figure is double. Egypt has 12 times more deaths than government figures. In Pakistan the difference is eight times greater. The same is true of Russia. In Russia alone, about 0.8 million deaths have been reported. Even in a country like the United States, almost one million deaths due to corona have not been reported. The number of access deaths in Germany is 80 thousand. Soon the graph of Kovid’s death flattened in China! Questions have also been raised about it.
This game of dodging involves almost all countries. The worst thing is that they are still turning their backs on the truth. Instead of meditating on the WHO report and preparing for the next such calamities, various agencies in India, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIM), government departments are working harder to come up with new excuses against the WHO report. The worst situation is in the African continent. The WHO has not received any data from 41 of the 54 countries on the African continent. This is a slap in the face to the claims of world progress today. Those who did not get hospital while alive, now they have disappeared after death !! Statistics will come and go, but the lines of shame will be drawn on the faces of governments forever.
