A parade was also held to celebrate Victory Day. In his speech, Putin justified the action taken against Ukraine. He surprisingly named the regions of Ukraine in his speech. Russia’s Victory Day celebrations have nothing to do with the Ukraine war. In fact this Victory Day is associated with World War II. At midnight on this day, May 9, World War II officially ended in Europe and the northern regions of Africa. Russia celebrates Victory Day today in celebration of its victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. The parade took place this year.
