Ahmedabad: The Gujarat team, which made its debut in the IPL, has made history. Gujarat Titans (GT) clinched the title in their debut season by defeating Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets in the final of the 15th season of IPL played at Narendra Modi Stadium at Motera, Ahmedabad. Gujarat Titans, playing in the IPL for the first time, won the first season by defeating Rajasthan Royals. The victory of Gujarat Titans was being celebrated with a grand road show at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Fireworks were also fired to welcome the Gujarat Titans team. The road show started from Hotel Hyatt on Ashram Road and continued till the riverfront. The road show covered a total of 6 kilometers. In this grand road show, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi flagged off the road show.
Ahmedabad Police Commissioner Sanjay Srivastava said that a road show was held from Usmanpura today after the victory of Gujarat Titans. From Hyatt Hotel Incometax U Usman Pura from below, Usmanpura to the right, Darpan Academy to Riverfront and from there to Gandhi Bridge Riverfront, From Gandhi Bridge to Usman Pura, Usman Pura to the Hyatt Hotel.
After this victory, BCCI rained money on Gujarat. The Gujarat Titans also received a prize money of Rs 20 crore along with the trophy. The Rajasthan Royals were also fined Rs 12.5 crore. The third-ranked Bangalore team got a cash prize of Rs 7 crore and the fourth-ranked Lucknow team got a cash prize of Rs 6.5 crore. As per the information received, the fans were overjoyed to see Home Minister Amit Shah on the big screen during Rajasthan’s batting. Along with Amit Shah, Modi-Modi slogans were also chanted by the fans in the stadium.
Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya expressed his happiness and said that every player of the team worked hard. “Always the bowler wins the match for you, you have to have a good bowling line when the batsmen can’t score and it always seems to work,” he said. When we were building the team we decided from the beginning that we would build a strong bowling line, because sometimes if the batsman can’t score then you can win with the help of the bowler.
