Ahmedabad: The final of IPL 2022 will be played today between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). Both teams topped the points table during the league stage. Now in the final also two strong teams of the tournament Gujarat and Rajasthan will face each other. For this match, both the teams will not be able to make any change in playing-11 and will enter the field with a win-11.
Why Gujarat’s playing-11 can happen?
The Gujarat team has performed brilliantly so far. The team won 10 of 14 matches in the league round. The team lost just four matches. Gujarat tops the points table with 20 points. After this, they defeated Rajasthan in Qualifier-1.
The most important thing for Gujarat is that different players have given victory to the team in different matches. The team did not buy any well-known batsmen, but all the batsmen were in form. In the opening, Riddhiman Saha and Shubhaman Gill, in the middle order, Hardik Pandya, David Miller and Rahul Tewatia are batting brilliantly. The lower order of the team did not get much chance, but Rashid has also done well with the bat in two matches.
After doing well in the opening matches, Saha has not been able to do anything special in the last few matches. He will want to give the team a good start in the final. Speaking of bowling, Gujarat’s bowling line-up is considered to be the strongest this season.
The team has swing bowlers like Mohammad Shami and Yash Dayal. At the same time, Alzari Joseph has height as well as speed, which can upset Rajasthan batsmen. The combination of Rashid Khan and Arsai Kishore is doing a wonderful job in spin. The team can enter the final without any changes.
Possible playing XI for Gujarat: Hardik Pandya (Capt.), Shubhaman Gill, Riddhiman Saha, Matthew Wade, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia & Rashid Khan, Arsai Kishore, Mohammad Shami, Alzari Joseph & Yash Dayal.
Why could Rajasthan play-11?
As for Rajasthan, Jose Butler’s thunderous batting in Qualifier 2 knocked Bangalore out of the tournament. Butler sounded the alarm bell for Gujarat by scoring a century. The biggest challenge for GT will be controlling Butler’s bat. Butler has scored many runs against Gujarat. Butler has scored 143 runs in two matches against GT. With him, the successful Jaiswal, who is running in superb form, can come down in the opening.
The biggest problem for Rajasthan is Sanju Samson. He’s been making a good start in every match, but he hasn’t been able to turn it into a big innings. Samson is out for 30-40. In that case, he would have to play big innings in the final. At the same time, it will be able to give the right answer to the national selectors.
Samson has not been included in the Indian squad for the T20I series against South Africa. Apart from this, Shimron Hetmeyer and Ravichandran Ashwin are also batting well. Ryan Pollen will be responsible for finishing the match.
In bowling, the Rajasthan team is looking strong. Trent Bolt and the famous Krishna will be responsible for giving Rajasthan early success. At the same time, Obed McCoy will try to cross the team in the death overs. Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal will be responsible for stopping runs in the middle overs. Chahal has bowled wonderfully this season and is currently the highest wicket-taker.
Possible playing XI for Rajasthan: Sanju Samson (WK / Captain), Jose Butler, Yashaswi Jaiswal, Devdutt Padikal, Shimron Hatmeyer, Ryan Parag, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Bolt, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prashant Krishna and Obed McCoy.
