New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has slashed its media rights for the Indian subcontinent of the IPL to Rs. Selling at Rs 44,075 crore, it has become one of the richest organizations in the world of sports. At the same time, the BCCI was given a match which cost Rs. Priced at Rs 107.5 crore, the IPL ranks second after the NFL in all the leagues in the world in terms of one match value.

According to the information received, the TV rights package for the Indian subcontinent for 410 IPL matches in the five seasons from 2023 to 2027 is Rs. 23,575 crore, according to which Rs. 57.5 crore to BCCI. While for package B of digital rights for Indian subcontinent Rs. 20,500 crore or Rs. 50 crore has got it. Thus, the BCCI’s prosperity by selling two packages is Rs. 44,075 crore. When the auction closes the next day, a package of select non-exclusive digital rights deals for package C costs Rs. A bid of Rs 2,000 crore was made, the third day on Tuesday the auction will proceed again with Package C.
An IPL match costs more than the English Premier League
The BCCI’s one-day match during the media rights auction in the IPL from 2023 to 2027 is worth more than a match in the English Premier League (EPL). A match in the EPL is worth around Rs 86 crore, against which the BCCI has got a match value of Rs 107.5 crore in the sale of new media rights and currently only one match in the NFL (American Football League) is worth more than one match in the IPL. An NFL match is worth Rs 109 crore. However, with the completion of the auction of all the four slots of IPL media rights, the cost of one match of IPL could be higher than all other leagues.
