Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel Korona has been infected. They have been home quarantined with common symptoms of corona. The atmosphere across the country is tense after the Kanaiyalal massacre. Also, the rathyatra of Lord Jagannath is to start in Gujarat after two days. The Chief Minister will break the years old tradition of rath yatra in Korona.
Gujarat Police has also been alerted following the rathyatra and the ongoing tension in the neighboring state. The Chief Minister, Minister of State for Home Affairs and the Chief of Police have convened a meeting in this regard. In which a complete review of the police system regarding the incident and rath yatra in Rajasthan will be done. However, the meeting was canceled as Chief Minister Korona was positive.
The 145-year-old tradition of rath yatra will be broken
Lord Jagannath’s rathyatra will start in Ahmedabad on the day of unripe seeds. A special ritual is performed before starting this rathyatra. In this ritual the king of the state i.e. the Chief Minister cleans the way of the chariot of Lord Jagannathji with a gold broom, and sprinkles water. Then the Chief Minister pulls the rope of the chariot and starts the procession. Which is called Pahind ritual. It is believed that the king of the kingdom is considered to be the first servant of Jagannathji, so the king comes before the rathyatra and clears the way for the rathyatra with a gold broom, only after the Lord is seated in the chariot. The Pahind ritual was introduced in the state of Gujarat in 1990. This year, just two days before the rath yatra, the 145-year-old tradition of the Chief Minister being coronated will be broken. This year, the Chief Minister will not perform the ritual. Because, according to Corona’s guideline, a positive person has to stay in quarantine for one week after corona occurs.
Tight police arrangements for the rathyatra
State DGP Ashish Bhatia said a company of 25 paramilitary forces has been called in the state to deal with the rath yatra. As Ahmedabad Rathyatra is the largest, 22 companies will be in charge of Ahmedabad Rathyatra. Apart from this 4 DIG / IG, 20 SP, 60 DYSP, 150 PI, 300 PSI, 2000 policemen, 21 SRP companies have been called from outside Ahmedabad. The cyber crime and CID crime cyber team will monitor from drone cameras, body on camera and social media. All the cameras will be seen in the Trinetra control room in Gandhinagar from where the rathyatra will be monitored.
