- Sachin GIDC industrialists protest against tax hike
- Industrialists annoyed by Sachin’s notice to increase tax by 25 per cent
- Complained to the MD of GIDC and the Chief Officer of Notified
According to the information received, consolidated tax notices have been sent to 2250 industrialists of Sachin GIDC with a hefty increase of 25 per cent in the tax structure rate in the current four-year block assessment rate by Sachin Notified Office. Complaining that it was unfair and unjust, Sachin Industrial Co.O. Former president of the society Nilesh Gami and former secretary Mayur Golwala have been appointed as MD and Chief Notified Officer of GIDC. Nilesh Gami said that if the industrialists are facing a recession due to the corona for the last two years, they will not be able to bear the tax hike. So this tax increase is withdrawn. In addition, Gami said, the last 4 years have seen a 75 per cent tax hike, which is unfair. In just four short years, the tax burden on industrialists has doubled. This tax hike should be withdrawn in the interest of 2250 industrialists.
“This is the fourth time in four years that the current rulers have raised taxes,” said Mayur Golwala, a former secretary. 25 per cent in 2018-19, 10 per cent in 2019-20, 10 per cent in 2021-22 and now 25 per cent in 2022-23. Even in the difficult times of Corona, the administrators have increased the tax burden on the industrialists of Sachin GIDC. Thus, in just a short span of four years, Sachin GIDC’s tax on industrialists has almost doubled by 75 per cent. Which is unjust. Golwala further said that the administrators are raising taxes on industrialists to hide their incompetence towards the administration. Golwala termed the ruling party’s administration as maladministration. Golwala further said that in the past when the present rulers were not in power, they themselves had taken a stand to oppose the tax hike and now they are raising the tax unbearably.
