Russia: 137 days into the Russia-Ukraine war, Russian troops fired a missile at an apartment in the Ukrainian city of Donetsk, killing 29 people. Police have recovered 24 dead bodies, 6 injured people have also been recovered from the debris. Until now, the Russian citizenship process was easy only for people from Ukraine’s Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as southern Zaporizhia and Kherson regions. Most of these areas are controlled by Russia. In 2019, the process of granting citizenship to residents of Donetsk and Luhansk was first initiated. At the same time in 2022, about 18 percent of the population of rebel-held areas, or more than 720,000 people, were issued Russian passports. A fast-track process was also launched for residents of Zaporizhia and Kherson regions in May 2022, three months after the attack on Ukraine. About a month ago, people in these areas were given Russian passports. Kharkiv Governor Oleh Sinihobel said on social media Telegram that the attacks were carried out by several rocket launchers.
