New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has selected a different window for the first season of the (Women’s Indian Premier League) (WIPL) in March 2023. According to BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, the process of starting WIPL is underway.

A senior BCCI official privy to the matter told PTI on condition of anonymity that yes, the women’s IPL will start in the first week of March, we have fixed four weeks for it in the first year. We are planning to host the Women’s IPL immediately after the Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa from February 9 to 29.
Women’s IPL to be held next March
According to a sports website, the board has changed the women’s domestic cricket calendar to make room for the women’s IPL. It has been decided to start the women’s domestic cricket season a month earlier. Usually it runs from November to April but now it has been decided to be held from October 11 to February. With this, women’s IPL can be easily organized in March. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah in separate interviews to PTI in February said about holding the women’s IPL in 2023. Most of the cricket fans believe that the Women’s IPL can bring a big change in the standard of women’s cricket in India.
