New Delhi: West Indies have announced the squad for the first Test against India. Two uncapped players have also been included in this squad. West Indies have announced several surprise names for the two-Test series at home against Rohit Sharma & Co. Both India and West Indies will begin their ICC Test Championship campaign with the Dominica Test. Left-handed batsman Kirk McKenzie has earned a place in the squad for West Indies A during the recent series against Bangladesh A. Along with this, his partner Alik Athanaz has also been included in the team. Both will make their Test debut.
West Indies Chief Selector Desmond Haynes believes that both of them can be long-term horses for West Indies. Haynes said he was impressed with the way the duo performed on the recent tour of Bangladesh after joining the West Indies A team.
The first Test between Team India and West Indies will start from July 12 at Windsor Park in Dominica. The second Test match of the series will be played from July 20 at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad.
