Securing a sunbed on holiday can feel a little bit like the Hunger Games.
You’ll set an alarm at the crack of dawn just to go down and lay a beach towel on your desired sun lounger – but only if you’re quicker than other hotel residents.
If you snooze, you lose – quite literally.
And it’s not exactly the relaxing start to the day you might hope for on holiday.
But a TikToker has found a way to take the hassle out of nabbing space around the pool – and get a lie-in at the same time.
Laura Jayne Lowe has come up with a genius idea for securing a spot around the pool, after reading reviews saying her hotel has the ‘worst sunbed wars’ guests have ever witnessed.
The answer? Ordering a £15 portable sun lounger that you can take to the pool yourself.
She explains: ‘It weighs 2kg, barely anything. It’s inflatable, so it can go completely flat in my case. And as long as I take an air pump, which I have anyway, you can suck air out and you can put it back in, no problem, and it’s no bigger than a lilo to carry down to the pool.’
In a follow-up video, Laura shares the one in particular she found from Camping World – but it goes without saying that any similar ones will also work.
You’ll just need to make room for it in your luggage and remember to pack an air pump to inflate it.
