A MUM has been praised for teaching her son to batch cook school lunches for 15p – and people are praising the idea.
The mum said she was inspired to pass on life skills to her son as meals at his school were “not particularly nutritious or cost effective.”

She shared photos of her son whipping up some tasty meals that would help to save the family some money each week.
The mum wrote on Facebook: “So tonight teaching my son the art of batch cooking… As OUR school meals are not particularly nutritious or cost effective.”
She shared how her son’s school pasta pots are £2 each, but she can make a staggering 20 lunch pots at home for £3, which works out at 15p per portion.
The woman shared: “He knows exactly what’s in it. It tasted delicious too.

“Batch cooking is great for families who are busy or people that live alone. Nutritious food cooked just the way you like it, when you want it and a fraction of the price.”
