BEIJING: As cases of Covid-Covid-19 covid-virus are on the rise in China, many other cities and metropolises, after Shanghai, are beginning to implement restrictions such as shutdowns.

Shanghai, a city of 2.5 billion people, which has been experiencing severe lockdowns for more than three weeks now, is seeing loosening of controls due to widespread grievances, complaints and resentment, while other cities are moving toward lockdown-like controls as the coronavirus spreads to other parts of China. Even in Shanghai, however, most businesses are still closed. The industrial city of Guangzhou, with a population of 1.3 million, near Hong Kong, has also been put in a state of lockdown this week. Intercity bus services have been suspended in the city of Taiyuan in central China with a population of 3 million. Residents in southeastern Ningde have been barred from leaving. The cities of Shenzhen and Guangzhou have also been closed since March 16 and mass testing of people has begun.
15 children in 44 new Kovid cases in Noida, 325 new cases in Delhi
Delhi: 44 people, including 15 children, have tested positive for Covid-19 in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Uttar Pradesh. The health department said on Thursday.
The health department said that the number of active cases in the district has crossed 100 and now stands at 121. According to official figures, 44 people have reported positive for the infection since 6 am on Wednesday. While 13 people have recovered during this period.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sunil Kumar Sharma said, “Out of the new cases, 15 children have tested positive. None of these children are enrolled in any school. ” The Delhi government has also issued a new advisory for schools in the national capital and NCR after reports of some students’ Covid-19 reporting positive in schools on April 13. The Delhi government’s advisory said, “If any cowardly case is reported or reported to the school authorities, report it immediately to the Directorate of Education and temporarily close the school in the relevant branch or in the whole case.”
