Navi Mumbai: In the first double header match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday, Punjab Kings set a 152-run target with the help of Livyam Livingstone’s half-century. Capturing at the expense of wickets, the match was won by 7 wickets in the current season of the IPL.
- In addition to hitting a half-century for the Punjab Kings, Livingstone took a half-century partnership with Shah Rukh to take the score to 151.
- Sunrisers Hyderabad won by 7 wickets with 7 balls to spare in a 75-run partnership between Aiden Markram and Nicholas Poor.
The Sunrisers, who were on the field to reach the target, were hit hard by the early dismissal of Captain Ken Williamson. However, after that, Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi put together a 48-run partnership to give the team some stability. But by the time the team’s score reached 77, the two pavilions were together. Sunrisers Hyderabad then led Markram and Puran to victory. Markram was unbeaten on 41 off 27 balls with 4 fours and a six while Puran was unbeaten on 35 off 30 balls with 1 four and a six.
Batting first after losing the toss, Punjab Kings got off to a bad start and lost the top four wickets by 61 runs. Liam Livingstone and Shah Rukh Khan then had a 69-run partnership. Shah Rukh was dismissed for 26 and Livingstone for 60. In the 20th over, Umran Malik threw the maiden and in that over he took the wickets of Smith, Chahar and Vaibhav. Umra took 4 wickets while Bhuvneshwar took 3 wickets. Natarajan and Jagdish Soochit took 1-1 wickets.
