New Delhi: Indian cricket team captain Lokesh Rahul and left-arm spinner Kuldip Yadav have been ruled out of the five-match Twenty20 series against South Africa due to injuries. Out of the series (T-20 Series). On Wednesday, before the start of the series, Rahul was ruled out of the series due to a groin injury. In his place, Rishabh Pant, who was made vice-captain in the series, will now play the role of captain in the series, while all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been made vice-captain.
Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who was batting during net practice after Rahul was ruled out of the series earlier in the day, was also ruled out of the series due to an injury to his right hand. The BCCI said in a statement that Team India captain Lokesh Rahul has been ruled out of the series against South Africa due to a right groin injury. While Kuldeep Yadav injured his right hand while batting in the nets on Tuesday evening and due to this he too will not be able to play in this series.
According to the statement, the selection committee has named Pant as captain and Hardik as vice-captain for the home series. The selection committee has not announced any replacement for Rahul and Kuldeep. Both the cricketers will now go to the National Cricket Academy for rehabilitation.
