New Delhi: Hardik Pandya, the winner of the recently concluded season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), has been named the captain of Team India for the two-match T20I series against Ireland. The squad for the T20 series against Ireland was announced today, with Rahul Tripathi as the only new face. In addition, wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson has returned to the squad along with Suryakumar Yadav, who was ruled out of the IPL due to injury and is currently out of the series against South Africa.
Rahul Tripathi has been rewarded for consistently performing well in IPL and domestic cricket. Zappi bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been named the team’s vice-captain for the series. No changes have been made to the team’s fast bowling attack and Umran Malik as well as Arshdeep Singh have been retained in the squad. India and Ireland will play two T20 matches on June 26 and 28. Meanwhile, the key players of the Indian team will be on a tour of England. The Indian team is scheduled to play a Test against England from July 1.

The BCCI lost its IPL media rights
New Delhi: Media rights for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 to 2027 season are Rs. 48,390 crore, which has cost the BCCI a fortune. A ball thrown in the IPL cost the BCCI Rs. 49 lakh will be earned and accordingly BCCI will get Rs. 2.95 crore. Due to the record price of media rights sold to the BCCI from 2023 to a match in the IPL from Rs. 118 crore will be earned. According to the five-year contract awarded by Star India in 2018, the average value of each domestic match in India is Rs. 60 crores.
In particular, in the reverse cycle of BCCI 2018 to 2022, about Rs. 55 crore. For the first time, the BCCI has separated the TV and digital rights of the IPL and for the first time, four separate packages for media rights have been formulated by the BCCI. In which TV rights package-A is Rs. 23,575 crore, digital rights package B20500 crore, non-exclusive rights package C 2991 crore while foreign TV and digital rights package D Rs. 1057 crore.
