New Delhi: Pakistan’s new warship PNS Taimur arrived at Sri Lanka’s Colombo port on Friday. The arrival of this warship in Sri Lanka is an important event as recently Bangladesh did not allow it to come to Chittagong port. Later, Sri Lanka allowed the ship to dock at Colombo port. Let it be said that the permission given to the Pakistani ship after Sri Lanka withdrew the permission for the Chinese spy ship to come to the strategically important Hambantota port after Indian requests has raised many questions.
The biggest question is what is the function of Pakistani warships in Sri Lanka. According to reports, PNS Timur will conduct a joint exercise with the Sri Lankan Navy in the Western Sea. According to information from sources, PNS Taimur is likely to remain at Colombo coast till August 15. He will participate in several programs organized by the Sri Lankan Navy to enhance cooperation and goodwill between the navies of the two countries. In addition, PNS Taimur is expected to conduct naval exercises with the Sri Lankan Navy in the Western Sea before her departure on August 15.
According to the information, the question arises whether Taimur’s visit to Sri Lanka is in any way dangerous for India. According to information from sources, the spy ship Yuan Wang-5 was scheduled to arrive at Hambantota port from China between August 11 and 17. Information has been received in Waghara that there is no threat to India from Timur’s arrival in Sri Lanka, but it is necessary to monitor his movements.
PNS Timur is the second of the four Type 054 A/P frigates built in China. He was inducted into the Pakistan Army on 23 June 2022. This warship is 134 meters long. China is also building Yuan Class-041 8 diesel attack submarines for Pakistan. China will hand over this submarine to Pakistan Navy by 2028. According to the information received from the sources, China wants to establish its control over the maritime area around India through this.
