The attacker is originally from Lebanon. When Salman Rushdie was attending an event in New York and he reached the stage, Hadi attacked him with a knife. Currently, it is being said that the author’s condition is improving. The attacker, on the other hand, is being held in the Chautauqua County Jail.

Rushdie was on ventilator till yesterday. Police immediately arrested the attacker, identified as Hadi Matar.
