In the year 2016, there was a commotion
Notably, after India’s loss to West Indies in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup in 2016, there was a ruckus between outsiders and local students on campus, after which the NIT was closed for several days. In this matter, the video of the medical college students also went viral. There was a huge uproar on social media over it.
Police will be alert in Jammu
A great match will be played between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup cricket competition in Dubai, but its heat is also being seen in Jammu and Kashmir. Local police are already on high alert to avoid any possibility of tension. Before the match, police deployment has been made at all sensitive places in the district, so that no mischievous elements succeed in spoiling the atmosphere. For this, the police have held a meeting with the members of the Mohalla Committee and Market Association of sensitive places and asked them to maintain peace.
Let it be known that during the India-Pakistan cricket matches in the past, the condition of social harmony deteriorated many times and factionalism was also seen many times. Police fear that some anti-social elements may try to spoil the atmosphere in the meantime. In such a situation, precautions are being taken.
