Rishi Sunak was finance minister in Boris Johnson’s government. Rishi Sunak’s wife’s name is Akshata Murthy. He married Akshata in 2009. Akshata is the son-in-law of NR Narayan Murthy, the famous Indian businessman and founder of Infosys.
Rishi Sunak, who became Britain’s first Indian-origin prime minister, recently said he wanted to transform UK-India relations into a two-way exchange that would allow easy access for UK students and companies in India. Addressing a meeting of members of the British Indian Conservative Party in August, the 42-year-old Indian-origin Tory MP, born in Yorkshire, UK, vowed to pull the country out of inflation and build a better, safer Britain.
“I want to ensure that it is easy for our students to travel and study in India,” he said. It is also easier for our companies and Indian companies to work together because it is not just a one-way relationship. I want to make a difference in that relationship. The UK-born son of Indian-origin general practitioner father Yashvir and pharmacist mother Usha has spoken extensively about his foreign origins during previous campaigns.
