Arunachal Pradesh: India has taken a strict stance on the clash between Indian and Chinese Army in Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh and the central government has come into action. Meanwhile, China’s first statement on the clash and border dispute (India-China clash) has come out and the Ministry of External Affairs of China has said that the situation on the India-China border is stable.
Communication continues through diplomatic and military channels: China
When India raised the issue of clashes between Indian and Chinese troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang, China said the situation on the border was stable. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said, ‘As far as we understand, the situation on the Sino-Indian border is generally stable.’ He further said, ‘There is continuous dialogue on the border issue through political and military channels.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh made a statement in Parliament on the clash
Earlier, Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh made a statement in both houses of Parliament on the clash between Chinese and Indian troops in Tawang. He said that on December 9, 2022, China tried to change the status quo in the Yangtse area of Tawang sector on the border and the Indian Army bravely stopped the Chinese attempt. The Indian Army forced the PLA contingent to return to their posts. Along with this, while informing about the incident in Parliament, Rajnath Singh also said that some Indian and Chinese soldiers were injured in this clash, but no one was seriously injured. He said that no Indian soldier was martyred or seriously injured in the incident.
Flag meeting between India and China
Rajnath Singh further said that, ‘due to the timely intervention of the Indian army commanders, the Chinese soldiers returned to their positions. Following the incident, the local commander of the area held a flag meeting with his Chinese counterpart on 11 December 2022 under established arrangements and discussed the incident. The Chinese side denied such action and asked for peace on the border. This issue has also been raised with China at the diplomatic level.
