New Delhi: America has supported India on the clash in Tawang near LAC in Arunachal. Pentagon press secretary Pat Ryder said China is deliberately provoking the US and its allies in the Indo-Pacific region, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to the security of our allies.
The Pentagon said the US Department of Defense is closely monitoring the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). The US has also criticized China’s militarization and construction of military infrastructure near the LAC. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to ensure the safety of our allies,” said Pat Ryder, Patangan’s press secretary. Supporting India, the Press Secretary said that we support India’s efforts to de-escalate tensions.

The White House has also released a statement. White House Press Secretary Carine Jean-Pierre, the US President’s residence, said that the US is closely monitoring the situation on the LAC. While issuing a statement on the border clash in Arunachal, the US said that it is a matter of happiness that the armies of both the countries withdrew in time.
The UN Secretary General called for de-escalation
On the other hand, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has also called on both countries to reduce tension on the border. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in his statement in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha said, ‘The Indian Army bravely stopped the PLA from encroaching on our territory and forced them to go back to their posts. Some soldiers of both sides were injured in the clash. Singh said the Indian Army foiled an attempt by China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to unilaterally change the situation in Arunachal Pradesh’s Yangtze region on December 9.
Stephane Dujarric, a spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, when asked to comment on the issue, said, “Yes, we have seen the reports.” We call for de-escalation and ensure that tensions in the region do not escalate further. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said at a press conference in Beijing that the two sides have maintained easy communication on border issues through diplomatic and military channels. This is the first major clash between the troops of the two countries since the fierce clash in Galwan Valley in June 2020.
