New Delhi: A major plane crash takes place in Nepal on Sunday. A passenger plane has crashed near Pokhara, one of Nepal’s major cities. There were 68 passengers in this plane. The rescue team has reached the spot after receiving the information about the accident. The crashed passenger plane was on its way to Pokhara from the capital Kathmandu. So far 42 people have died in this accident. The accident occurred 10 seconds before the Yeti Airlines ATR-72 flight reached Pokhara airport. Nepal’s Pokhara Airport was inaugurated 14 days ago.
Pokhara Airport has been built with the help of China. China’s Exim Bank gave a loan to Nepal for its construction. The airport was inaugurated on January 1, 2023 by the Prime Minister of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachand. Apart from this, another information has been received that the demo flight of the same plane which was the victim of the crash was made on the day of the inauguration.
The plane was carrying 68 passengers, including three children. The plane was carrying 11 foreigners, including two Indian nationals. Nepal Army, Armed Police, Nepal Police and local citizens are doing rescue operations. So far 42 dead bodies have been recovered during the rescue operation. Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachand has expressed grief over this tragedy. PM Prachanda has instructed all government agencies for effective rescue work. He also called an emergency meeting of the cabinet regarding this incident. Cabinet ministers of the government were present in the emergency meeting chaired by Prime Minister Prachanda.

5 Indians were also on board the plane
The 53 nationals included five Indians, four from Russia, one from Ireland, two from Korea, one each from Argentina and France. This information has been given by the Airport Authority of Nepal. It is being told that 6 children are also included in the total of 68 passengers. Yeti Airlines has also released a list of all the passengers on board the plane.
