In Portugal’s women’s league, the referee took out a white card from his pocket. This white card was shown during the Women’s Cup quarter-final match between Portuguese club Benfica and Sporting Lisbon.
A fan in the audience fell ill and fainted during a match between Benfica and Sporting Lisbon. Medical teams from both sides reached the stands to handle the situation and the fan was given medical treatment within minutes. The referee showed a white card in appreciation of the doctors.
