New Delhi: Indian team’s middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer has been included in the team for the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar series starting from February 17 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium here. However, it has now been revealed that he is fully recovered from his back injury.
Due to a back injury, he could not even play in the first Test against Australia in Nagpur. The Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) issued a statement on Tuesday saying that the BCCI’s medical team has cleared Iyer to play. He will join the Test team in Delhi. However, yesterday it was said about Iyer that he is unfit and will not be able to play the second Test.

The BCCI medical team has cleared him to play. Shreyas will join the team in New Delhi ahead of the second match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.

Ahead of his 100th Test, Pujara has made it clear that he does not want to dwell on the ongoing debates surrounding his age. The 35-year-old batsman said he has not decided on a retirement date yet. He wants to focus on one match at a time. Cheteshwar Pujara said that I don’t want to set any target for myself. I want to live in the present. Instead of thinking about how long I will play, I want to take it one match at a time.
