ENGLAND’S trip to Cardiff to face Wales is going ahead after crisis talks.
Wales’ players had threatened to pull off a strike over pay, board representation and their controversial 60-cap rule – but a compromise has been reached.
Players will now be free to play for Wales if they are based abroad if they have won at least 25 caps.
Cancellation of the England game would have cost the Welsh Rugby Union £10m.
Warren Gatland will now name his Welsh team for the game on Thursday.
Steve Borthwick’s England side were stunned by Scotland in their opening fixture.
However, the Red Rose bounced back at Twickenham having secured their first win of the championship against Italy.
Meanwhile, Wales have had a disastrous start to their Six Nations campaign.
Gatland’s men suffered an embarrassing 34-10 defeat to league leaders Ireland, before being rumbled by Scotland at Murrayfield in round two.
