Iran: A shocking case has come to light in Iran. A case of poisoning hundreds of girls to prevent girls from going to school has come to light in a city in Iran. An Iranian minister has revealed this. The minister said hundreds of schoolgirls were poisoned by some people to close down girls’ schools in many places including the holy city of Qom. The poison was given in the form of a chemical compound and no arrests have been made in the matter so far. The matter is currently being investigated.
Iran’s Deputy Health Minister Yunus Panahi confirmed the incident on Sunday. According to local media in Iran, several female students were poisoned in schools in Koum. Some wanted all schools, especially girls’ schools, to be closed. However, Iran’s minister Panahi has refused to provide more information on the matter. Currently, the Iranian government is investigating the matter.
Female students studying in 14 schools in four cities of Iran were targeted. It includes the northwestern city of Ardebil, the capital Tehran, the western city of Borozard and the city of Qom. The city of Qom is considered to be the holiest city in Iran and is considered to be a very conservative and religiously fanatical city. Most of the country’s leaders and presidents have received their religious education from the city of Qom. Some videos also surfaced on social media, in which some angry relatives were protesting outside educational institutions.
While recent violent anti-hijab protests in Iran spread throughout the country and received support from around the world. The death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in police custody sparked protests that turned violent. More than 500 people were killed by security forces and four protesters were hanged in these protests. Thousands of people were jailed.
