New Delhi: A terrible train accident has occurred in Greece. 26 people have died in a horrific collision between two trains in Greece. The rescue team reached the spot as soon as the accident was reported. After the accident, smoke was emanating from the train for a long time. After that, the rescue workers searched the passengers trapped in the train with torches and took them out and sent them for treatment. The governor of Greece’s Thessaly region said a passenger train was traveling from Athens to the northern city of Thessaloniki, while another freight train was traveling from Thessaloniki to Larissa. These two trains collided before Larissa city. After the accident, videos and photos of the collision of the trains came out. In pictures after the accident, train coaches can be seen on the side of the track. As can be seen in the picture, smoke is also visible. Rescuers are working continuously. Agorastos said there were about 350 people on board the train. Out of which 250 passengers were safely removed from the train and sent on buses to the city of Thessaloniki.
According to a passer-by at the time of the incident, chaos ensued after the accident. After the collision, it felt like an earthquake. People were shouting loudly and screaming for help. After the accident, the spokesman of the fire department, Vasilis Varthakogiannis, said that the work of rescuing people after the accident is underway. People present at the time of the accident also helped the rescue team to save the passengers. Shortly after the incident, several vehicles of the fire department reached the spot. A rescue worker involved in the rescue operation said that it was difficult to carry out the rescue operation due to the thick darkness of the night and the smoke spread everywhere after the accident, but the team is doing its best.
