New Delhi: A meeting was held between the foreign ministers of India and China. This meeting is held on the sidelines of the G20 Summit. In which issues like border dispute between China and India were discussed. The Indian Foreign Minister gave a clear message to China in his address. He said that relations between India and China are not normal. There are some border issues between the two countries.
China’s Foreign Minister Qin Geng visited India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar has said that India and China should keep the border issue in its proper place in bilateral relations and work together to normalize the situation along their borders at the earliest.
The Ministry of External Affairs gave this information on Friday. Qin said this during a personal meeting with Jaishankar on Thursday during the G20 Foreign Ministers’ meeting in New Delhi. He said this amid the border dispute in eastern Ladakh that has been going on for more than 34 months. Qin Geng replaced Wang Yi as China’s foreign minister in December.
India says that its relations with China cannot be normalized until peace is established in the border areas. Jaishankar told Qin that the state of India-China relations was “abnormal”. The Indian External Affairs Minister said that their talks focused on ongoing challenges in bilateral relations, particularly peace and stability in the border areas.
He said, “We briefly discussed what is happening in the G20. But the meeting really focused on our bilateral relations and the challenges facing them, especially peace and stability in the border areas. China’s official news agency quoted an official statement issued by the foreign ministry as saying, “Qin told Jaishankar that both sides should implement the important consensus reached between the leaders of the two countries, maintain dialogue, resolve disputes appropriately.” Commit to the improvement of bilateral relations, and promote and continuously strengthen them. “The border issue should be put in its proper place in bilateral relations,” Qin said. He said that the situation on the borders should be normalized at the earliest.
