Chennai: Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who are playing their first home match at the Chepauk ground here after four years, scored 217 for 7 in 20 overs with the help of Rituraj Gaikwad and Devon Conway’s explosive batting against Lucknow Super’s target of 218 runs. CSK won by 12 runs as the giants reached 205 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs.

Chasing the target, Lucknow Supergiants got off to an explosive start with Kyle Myers and Lokesh Rahul putting 79 runs on the board in 5.3 overs. It was on this score that Myers was dismissed for 53 off 22 balls and after that his run-rate collapsed. Lucknow, who lost their first wicket for 79 with Moeen Ali and Mitchell Santner in trouble, lost five wickets for 130, Nicholas Poore made some effort, but in the end they could only manage 205 for 7. Apart from these two, Shivam Dubey scored 27 off 16 balls while in the last over, Dhoni hit two sixes in two consecutive balls and was dismissed for 12 runs off 3 balls. Ambati Rayudu was not out for 27 runs in 14 balls. On behalf of Lucknow, Ravi Bishnoi took 3 wickets for 28 runs while Mark Wood took 3 wickets for 49 runs.
