IT’S the only time of year when it’s acceptable – no, encouraged – to eat chocolate all day long.
So those with a sweet tooth will love these gooey Easter cookies that can be made in the Air Fryer in just 12 minutes.
Foodies at Planet Food revealed the recipe – which uses not just Mini Eggs, but a whole Creme Egg in each cookie – on their social media page.
Planet Food, whose TikTok profile is @thisisplanetfood, “These Creme Egg cookies are the best Easter treat.
“And did you know you could even make them in the Air Fryer?”
They then showed how to rustle them up, explaining the step-by-step method to make the delicious dough.
They explained: “Cream together 250g unsalted butter, 200g light brown sugar and 150g granulated sugar.
“Add in 2 eggs and 1 tbsp vanilla extract and whisk.”
The next part of the process is to add 450g plain flour, 150g cocoa, 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda and a pinch of salt and “whisk until a dough is formed.”
And then things take an Easter twist, as it’s time to add the secret ingredients.
Planet Food continued: “Simply make the basic cookie dough mix and add Mini Eggs to it.
“Then mould the dough around a Creme Egg and then Air Fry for 12 minutes (at 160 degrees) and you’ll get these insanely gooey cookies.”
They later added that they work just as well in the oven, but the cooking time needs to be increased to 30 minutes.
Ever since, chocoholic social media users have been going mad over the idea.
Many home cooks tagged their family and friends in the comment section and said they would be making them this Easter weekend.
One wrote: “I’m going to make some for all of you.”
A second added: “omg omg omg.”
While the tasty recipe also sparked a debate between those who favour Mini Eggs, and those who can’t get enough of Creme Eggs.
One commented: “Creme Eggs are the best, I will never change that.”
However, on the opposing team, someone else said: “Mini Eggs for life.”
