Kolkata: In the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) season (IPL 2023), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) reached 200 runs for the first time in the current season with the help of Harry Brook’s not out century, captain Aden Markram’s 26-ball fifty, Abhishek Sharma’s 17-ball 32 and Henrik Klaassen’s 6-ball 16. Sunrisers won by 23 runs as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) managed to reach 205 for 7 in 20 overs against a target of 229 after crossing the score mark of 228 for 4.

KKR had a poor start to the target and lost 3 wickets for 20 runs. Narayan Jagdeeshan and Nitish Rana then improved the odds slightly with a 62-run partnership. After KKR lost 5 wickets for 96 runs, Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh then put on a partnership of 69 runs off 38 balls. Nitish was dismissed for 75 runs off 41 balls. With 32 to go in the final over, KKR’s hopes ended with Shardul getting out first ball. Rinku was not out by scoring 58 runs in 31 balls.
After losing the toss and batting first, Sunrisers lost 2 wickets for 57 runs after a good start. After that there was a quick partnership of 72 runs between Brooke and Markram. Markram was dismissed for 50 off 26 balls. After that there was a partnership of 72 runs between Brooke and Abhishek. Abhishek was dismissed for 32 off 17 balls and Brook scored his maiden IPL century in the final overs. He scored 100 off 55 balls with 12 fours and 3 sixes and Klaasen remained unbeaten on 16 off 6 balls and the team scored 228 for 4. Andre Russell took 3 wickets while Varun Chakraborty took 1 wicket for KKR.
