Bengaluru: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) scored 226 for 6 against the set target of 227 with the help of attacking half-centuries from Devon Conway and Shivam Dubey as well as 80 runs between the two and a 70-run partnership between Conway and Ajinkya Rahane in the 24th match of the IPL here today. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fell 9 runs short of victory despite some stormy batting from Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell.

RCB got off to a poor start when they hit the target. However, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell put on a stormy batting partnership of 126 runs to create a chance of victory for the team. Maxwell scored 76 runs off 36 balls with the help of 8 sixes and 3 fours while Du Plessis was dismissed for 62 runs off 33 balls with the help of 5 fours and 4 sixes. After the wickets of these two, RCB’s chances of victory decreased and in the end they could only reach 218 runs for 8 wickets.
Chennai Super Kings got off to a poor start after Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to field first, but Conway and Rahane then added 70 runs in a second-wicket partnership. Rahane was out after scoring 37 runs in 20 balls. Conway then shared an 80-run partnership with Dube. Conway scored 83 runs off 45 balls with the help of 6 fours and 6 sixes, while Dube was dismissed for 52 runs off 27 balls with the help of 2 fours and 5 sixes. Moeen Ali was not out by scoring 19 runs.
