CHENNAI: Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batsmen failed to convert their good start into a big innings in a match played here on a spinner-friendly wicket of Chepauk, scoring 134 for 7 in 20 overs as Chennai Super Kings chased down their target of 135 runs with the help of Devon Conway’s 57-ball 77 not out at the cost of 3 wickets. Curry won the match by 7 wickets.
Devon Conway and Rituraj Gaekwad made an aggressive start on behalf of Chennai Super Kings who came to the field to capture the target and made 87 runs in 11 overs. Gaikwad was run out by 35 runs on this score. After that, Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu were also dismissed with 9 runs each. However, Conway played an unbeaten innings of 77 runs to give CSK a 7 wicket win.

At one stage, it looked like Sunrisers Hyderabad would score 170 to 180, but the Ravindra Jadeja-led Chennai Super Kings bowlers made a fuss in the middle overs that Sunrisers’ batsmen were unable to open up and were then dismissed in an attempt to increase the run-rate. On behalf of CSK, Ravindra Jadeja took 3 wickets for 22 runs with controlled bowling.
