New Delhi: The war between Ukraine and Russia is not over yet. Ukraine has repeatedly sought to become a part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, i.e. ‘NATO’. Meanwhile, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has made a big statement. He said that Ukraine deserves to join NATO. During his first visit to Ukraine since Russia’s invasion last year, he pledged continued support for the country. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged Stoltenberg to provide more aid to Ukraine, including combat aircraft, artillery and armored equipment. Stoltenberg has played a key role in rallying NATO members’ support for Ukraine.
Since 2008, Ukraine has been guaranteed to join NATO, Ukraine’s rightful place in NATO
NATO leaders said in 2008 that Ukraine would one day join the organization, which Stoltenberg reiterated. However, the organization has not set a deadline for Ukraine’s membership. Stoltenberg said, ‘I want to say clearly that Ukraine has a rightful place in the Euro-Atlantic family. Ukraine has a rightful place in NATO. Stoltenberg said he and Zelensky discussed the aid program.
