Hyderabad: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bounced back from a poor start to score 171 for 9 with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) 166 for 8 thanks to a fourth-wicket half-century partnership between Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh in the IPL match played here today. KKR could only score runs and won the match by 5 runs.
Sunrisers did not get off to a good start on the target and lost 4 wickets for 54 runs at one stage. After that, Aidan Markram and Henrik Klaasen put on a 50-run partnership to take control of the situation. Klaasen was dismissed for 36 and Markram for 41 runs. Sunrisers managed to score only 3 runs against 9 runs in the last over to win. Kolkata Knight Riders, who won the toss and elected to bat first, got off to a poor start and lost 3 wickets in the Powerplay only for 35 runs. Nitish and Rinku then improved the situation by adding 61 runs in the fourth wicket partnership. When Nitish was dismissed for 42 runs off 31 balls, the team’s score was 86 runs for 4 wickets.
