New Delhi: Star batsman Virat Kohli is among the first batch of Indian players who will leave for England early Tuesday morning to play the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) against Australia in London. Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate Mohammad Siraj will also arrive in London on the same flight. The first batch to leave for England includes spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Akshar Patel and all-rounder Shardul Thakur as well as support staff led by Rahul Dravid. The final of the WTC will be played at the Oval in London from June 7 to 11.

Sources of the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) said that the players of the Indian team will reach England in two or three batches. The first batch will leave at 4.30 am tomorrow. The players whose team has reached the IPL playoffs will reach England later. Including captain Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Shami, KS Bharat and Ajinkya Rahane. Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara is already playing county cricket in England.
Most of India’s players will participate in the WTC finals after playing in the IPL for two months, while only three players in the Australian squad for the decider were playing in the Indian T20 league. India was the runner up in WTC 2021. And now they will enter the field with the aim of winning the first ICC trophy in the last 10 years.
