New Delhi: The Russia-Ukraine war may take a dangerous turn. Ukraine has attacked Russia three times with drones in the last 24 hours. Ukrainian drones attacked residential areas of Moscow on Tuesday. Moscow has informed Russia that there have been some attacks on its territory and that there are attempts to assassinate President Vladimir Putin.
On Tuesday morning, Ukraine launched a drone strike in Moscow’s most residential suburbs. These areas also include Putin’s residential area. A spokesman said Putin is currently in the Kremlin and has been briefed on the attack. However, they did not suffer any loss due to this attack. The mayor of Moscow said two people were injured in a drone strike by Ukraine while residents of several apartments were told to evacuate their homes temporarily. Residents of the area where the attack took place said they first smelled petrol and then heard a loud bang. Some people even took pictures of the drone falling and smoke billowing into the sky.
Lawmaker Maxim Ivanov called it the biggest attack on Moscow. No Russian can escape the “new reality” now, he said. Earlier this month, two drones exploded over the Kremlin, prompting Russia to accuse Ukraine of trying to assassinate Putin, he said. Another Russian MP, Alexander Khinshtein, said, “Don’t underestimate the enemy! Terrorist attacks will only increase in Ukraine now.”
