New Delhi: Nothing has been clarified yet that the Pakistan team will come to India to play in the One Day World Cup to be held in India this year. ICC president Greg Barclay and CEO Geoff Allardyce visited Pakistan on Wednesday to seek assurances from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about their participation, but now there are reports that talks have stalled on the Pakistani government’s permission.
This year, ODI World Cup is going to be held in India in October-November. BCCI has categorically refused to play in Pakistan for the Asia Cup. Since this decision, Pakistan has been coming to India in one way or another to make excuses for not playing in the World Cup. Barclay and Allardyce met PCB chief Najam Sethi and sought his opinion on playing the tournament in India, urging him not to insist on a hybrid plan. Sethi has already hinted that the Pakistan government may have objections to his team playing in India. It is being said that the Pakistan team will not be allowed to go to India due to security reasons.
