Mumbai: The last trading day of the week in the stock market (Sensex) was Friday today. Both Sensex and Nifty started trading lower on July 21. Sensex broke 750 points in two minutes as soon as the market opened today. On the other hand, more than 100 points decline was seen in Nifty too. Due to this crash, the stock market investors lost 2.14 lakh crore rupees in just 2 minutes.
The market recovered slightly after the initial decline. Sensex is witnessing a major decline of 541 points and Nifty is witnessing a major decline of 153 points. Sensex is trading at 67030 while Nifty is trading at 19826. Advances are seen in 25 stocks while declines are seen in 24 stocks in Nifty 50. Stocks that are bullish here include LT, CIPLA, SBIN, KOTAKBANK, BRITANNIA. Among the stocks that are witnessing decline are shares of INFY, HCLTECH, HINDUNILVR, TCS, RELIANCE.
There is talk that the impact of Infosys results has been seen in the market today. IT stocks are expected to be under pressure today. Infosys was the biggest loser in the Sensex at 9 percent. Apart from this, HCL Technology, TCS, Wipro, Hindustan Unilever, Reliance Industries and Tech Mahindra were also in the red.
Let us tell you that the bullish trend in the domestic stock markets continued for the sixth consecutive trading session on Thursday with both the major indices hitting new records on account of foreign fund inflows and buying in banking and FMCG stocks. BSE’s benchmark index Sensex rose 474.46 points or 0.71 percent to close at a new all-time high of 67,571.90 points. It also touched an all-time high of 67,619.17 points during trading.
The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also closed at a new record high of 19,979.15 points, up 146 points or 0.74 per cent. It also touched an all-time high of 19,991.85 during trading.
This was the sixth consecutive trading session for both the stock indices. Meanwhile Sensex and Nifty touched several new highs from their all-time highs.
Among the companies included in the Sensex, ITC achieved the highest gain of three percent. Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank, Maruti, Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India, Sun Pharmaceutical, Axis Bank, Reliance Industries, Hindustan Unilever and JSW Steel also rose.
