JUST when you thought that Nando’s couldnt outdo itself, a new restaurant has opened offering lots of amazing gimmicks.
The peri-peri chicken chain recently opened a store in Battersea Power Station in London, which not only features all the things you know and love, but also plenty of quirky added extras.
These include a mega station with self-pump sauces, where customers can help themselves to as much sauce as they desire to go with their chosen dish.
And they have the whole line-up of condiments to choose from, including lemon and herb, wild herb and garlic.
Elsewhere, there’s further treats for foodies as Nando’s decided to include a frozen slushie cocktail and frozen slushie iced tea for people to try.
This means Nando’s fans can now get their hands on the newly launched Sunset Slushie, or PERi-cante frozen cocktails whenever they fancy them.
The restaurant is located in the newly restored Grade II* listed building and seats up to 120 guests, as well as offering a takeaway service.
And after Nando’s fans heard about everything it had there, they said they couldn’t wait to visit and see it for themselves.
After TikTok content creator ExperienceAddict (@experienceaddict) shared video footage of Battersea spot on its account, it reached nearly 100k likes and hundreds of comments.
One social media user said: “Fine, I’ll make my way to Battersea!”
Meanwhile, others couldn’t get enough of the idea of the unique touches the restaurant offers.
A second said: “The sauce machine” alongside a heart eye emoji.
Another wrote: “SLUSHIE ICED TEA!”
One more said: “Oh my God.” While another person added: “That’s so cool.”
Other people described it as a “need” and added that the only thing that would make it better is if there was a perinaise machine, referring to Nando’s take on spicy mayonnaise.
Fans also pointed out that the restaurant looked chic and stylish – and it seems that it’s been thought about in detail.
The decor of the Battersea restaurant includes artwork and lighting from South African- based designers – the place the chain was born.
This includes Haywire light fittings from South African furniture designer, David Krynauw, and furniture from the Nando’s Portal to Africa design programme.
And they’ve not forgotten their Portugese influencer either, as the website for the restaurant reveals that Portuguese tiles have been used throughout space.
