Hyderabad: All eyes will be on former captain Virat Kohli in the IPL on Thursday when Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a crucial play-off match here. RCB are currently fifth with 12 points and need to win both their matches to qualify for the play-offs. Sunrisers, who are in ninth position with eight points from 12 matches, are out of the tournament.
Along with captain Faf du Plessini for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kohli is one of the top scorers but the star will look to be at his best against the Better Sunrisers after two successive failures for 18 against Rajasthan Royals and 1 against Mumbai Indians. Du Plessis has been leading the team from the front and has been in scintillating form, with 631 runs in 12 matches at an average of 57.36 and is the Orange Cap holder. Kohli is RCB’s leading batsman after him with 438 runs, but unlike du Plessis, Kohli has not been consistent enough and has struggled with his strike-rate at times.
