WASHINGTON: Our universe is so large that scientists have not yet fully explored it. But so far scientists have been able to find out that there are many other galaxies like the Solar System. There are many planetary systems in our galaxy. Researchers have been fascinated by the Beta Pictoris planetary system, 63 light-years away. Astronomers have now discovered 30 comets outside our galaxy that orbit the Beta Pictoris star just like the Sun.

- Water came to Earth from the ice of a comet
Beta Pictoris was discovered about 40 years ago. It is surrounded by debris made of gas and dust. Which gave birth to two planets. Which is orbiting Beta Pictoris. Scientists are very excited to see this, because our solar system is 4.5 billion years old, while Beta Pictoris is 20 million years old, much less than that. Through it, scientists will be able to understand the process during the formation of planets.
In early 1987, scientists discovered a comet orbiting a star similar to the Sun. An international research team observed the Beta Pictoris system from NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite for 156 days. In addition to finding the comet, researchers were able to determine its size. These comets are about the same size as the comets found in our solar system. Scientists discovered that their size is about 3 to 14 kilometers in a circle. For the first time, scientists have discovered the size of a comet in another solar system.
According to a study published in the journal Scientific Reports, the size of comets found in our solar system is changing due to collisions with other objects orbiting in space. Meteors and comets play an important role in the formation of the planet. Scientists believe that some of the water found on Earth came from comet’s ice. That’s why scientists are more excited about what kind of effect it will have on the two new planets.
