Surat: The Central Government has given permission for the first phase of the Custom House of Surat Diamond Bourse, which is being built as a part of Surat Dream City. .
SDB spokespersons Mathur Savani and Dinesh Nawadia said the central government has given permission for the custom house being set up in Bursa. The government will issue a notification in the second phase and a custom SOP will be decided in the third phase. With this custom protocol, a registered member of SDB will be able to export Diamond internationally using any Domestic Airport in India.
Surat was the focus of a recent presentation for foreign diamond industrialists at the Dubai Expo. At the Dubai Expo held in Dubai, a presentation was given by the officials of the Indian Commerce Department on the topic of investment opportunities in Gujarat, in which about 10 foreign diamond industrialists, including from Dubai, showed readiness to invest in the diamond bourse in Surat. The Surat Diamond Bourse, which is taking shape under the Khajod Dream City project in 66 lakh square feet, is being prepared to be operational before the end of this year.
A presentation was made at the Dubai Expo for investment opportunities in various industries of Gujarat, in which diamond bourses along with diamond industry of Surat were also presented. GJEPC Regional Chairman Dinesh Nawadia said in a presentation on investment opportunities in Gujarat for foreign industry leaders, including foreign diamond industrialists, at the Taj Hotel in Dubai, it was also informed that the largest corporate office for diamond industry has been set up in Surat. Only after this information, the bursa prepared for the diamond industry of Surat and Surat has become the center of discussion among the industrialists there. Along with this, more than 10 industrialists from there also showed keenness to invest in Surat’s Bursa.
It may be mentioned here that 4200 offices of 9 floors of 15 floors constructed at a cost of over Rs. The proposal made by the industrialists for office in Burse at the Dubai Expo will be put to the working committee of Burse. A decision will then be made.
