The Vadodara Municipal Corporation has worked hard to fully enforce the ban. But a dark mold has been created under the corporation’s lamp. It has been seen that traders are using plastic in the market from the windows of the corporation. However, confusion has arisen due to lack of clear guidelines. .
Items like single use plastics, straw, plastic sticks, thermocol have been banned from July 1. The Vadodara Municipal Corporation had also issued a public notice banning the use of single use plastics.
In which it was stated that under Swachh Bharat Mission, Government of India has announced Plastic Waste Management Rules on 18th March 2016. In this regard, Palika has approved Plastic Waste Management Bylaws. Has issued guidelines to increase the consumption of closed eco-friendly goods. Under the Plastic Free India Campaign, a campaign will be launched to make Vadodara a plastic free city.
For which single use plastic in public events and places i.e. disposable plastic such as plastic cups, plastic dishes, glasses, spoons, straw, bowls, containers, thermocol, cups, dishes, food packaging, plastic, plastic flowers, flags, banners. , Folders, carry bags, etc. are prohibited. If any person or organization uses single use plastic, the corporation will take punitive action against it. It has instructed to use eco-friendly items instead of single use plastic. Single use plastic is still seen in shops in the markets. The important thing is that traders are seen using plastic in the market from the windows of the municipal system. This has also raised many questions.
